Meridian advises insurers and their insureds on coverage for large and small property insurance claims under general property, industrial special risks contractors all risks, contract works, and plant and equipment policies.

In the strata space, we manage property claims made by owners’ corporations and unit owners where coverage disputes have arisen.

We also defend liability claims for property damage and personal injury in the property and construction sectors.

We have a team that specialises in insurance recoveries. Most of these recoveries involve claims against third parties liable for losses paid under property insurance policies. These claims require careful analysis of the evidence and assessment of recovery prospects. In addition to the legal issues, the capacity of the liable party to pay is always carefully considered to avoid pyrrhic victories.
